Janet Talling
Environmental and animal welfare interested me since primary school and that has directed my career. From working on a conservation project in Africa to then spending the first twenty years of my working career as an animal welfare research scientist. I then decided on a change and moved into central government to work in policy, but still in areas related to my interest in biological science. After a short stint working on the COVID policy response, I then took up the challenge of taking the new primary legislation on precision breeding through UK parliament, and now lead the team who are delivering the practical and legislative implementation of precision breeding, along with the implementation of our GM regulations.
