Alex Ansell

Independent advisor
Not from a farming family, Alex started off her career as a gardener and studying for a BSc Horticulture where she enjoyed design, genetics, and soils. She then moved into the world of Agriculture to study for her PhD in Variable Rate Application of Fungicides in Winter Wheat at Cranfield University. This was multidisciplinary project, looking to unite the different areas of research, including: the latest technology, spray deposition, field variation, the use of satellite imagery and the cost. During this time Alex was a student board member for the Institute of Agricultural Engineers. Alex has since worked for the Animal and Plant Health Agency, as a Plant and Seed health inspector, and taken a year out of industry to work as a data analyst. Alex worked in AHDB Cereals and Oilseeds from May 2023 - July 2024
