The River Severn Partnership Advanced Wireless Innovation Region (RSPAWIR) is a £4m initiative funded by the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology and managed by Shropshire Council.
This project accelerates the adoption of advanced wireless connectivity to drive economic growth, environmental enhancement, and social benefit. Working across water management, rural industries (Agri-Tech), and the public sector, RSPAWIR showcases how 5G-enabled technologies can transform farming and land-based industries.
In collaboration with Harper Adams University, Hartpury University partners with farmers and landowners to demonstrate practical applications such as crop monitoring, precision irrigation, and water quality nutrient and bacteria monitoring—setting new standards for innovation in agriculture.
