Unmissable CropTec Show adds new attractions

By: Elisabeth Mork-Eidem

CropTec is welcoming, compelling and at a time of year that’s become appealing to the large number of farmers and advisors who attend.

Targeted at people who are technically inquisitive, we hope that the developments for this year’s event will strike a chord.

More than 170 companies, covering a wide range of business advice, new tech, agronomy know-how and tools will be coming along, and will be based in the main halls at the East of England Showground, as well as demonstrations on the hard-standing outside.

Our technical seminars are always a big draw, they run on both days and include a daily session covering crop establishment, crop nutrition, crop protection and crop breeding.

Discussion panel in the Crop Establishment seminar

New for this year, part of the Crop Establishment seminar will take on a brand-new format, where 3 prominent farmers will take to the stage to discuss what they would do differently this year in their crop establishment plans. This will give a farmers view to real-life situations, covering different soil types, and offer take-home ideas to implement on farm.

Cereal Diseases Hub

The Cereal Diseases Hub, sponsored by Adama Agricultural Solutions, will provide visitors with the latest thoughts and advice on how to control and protect against key cereal diseases including septoria and rusts in wheat, and ramularia and net blotch in barley.

Spraying Technology Hub

The Spraying Technology Hub, sponsored by Syngenta, will bring farmers and operators up to speed with the latest developments in spraying technology, and insights on how they can be best used in practice. Key focus will be on drift reduction, understanding the dynamics of droplet design and ensuring spray hits the intended target.

New kit in the Sprayer Demonstration Area

The CropTec Show’s sprayer demonstrations will give you a chance to drive some of the most advanced sprayers in the market. New for 2018, Lite-Trac will be showcasing their new LT350 with an impressive 320hp Tier 4 Volvo 7.7 litre Diesel engine; McConnel’s AgriBuggy A280 will be available to test drive with a unique low ground pressure design; and Vicon’s precise, easy and effect iXtrack T Sprayer will be on hand, all with experts to talk you through the specifications.

Soil Compaction Area

The soil pit will show the effects compaction has on the soil below ground level, the difference between tyres and how you can minimise the effects. Featuring Michelin, the Soil Compaction Area will be a fantastic new addition to The CropTec Show 2018 and offer a great insight into how you can protect your soils.
