Herbicide Resistance Testing offered at ADAS

Herbicide resistance is an increasing threat for effective weed management. With an over reliance on a much smaller range of herbicide modes of action, the chances of herbicide resistance developing to any giving active is now increasingly higher and once resistance has developed, it does not go away. Testing can identify resistance at an early stage, allowing farmers to take prompt action to prevent its spread.

ADAS offers testing on black-grass, italian ryegrass, wild oats, common poppy, chickweed and mayweed. For more information, please see our Herbicide resistance testing webpage.

This summer we are also offering free herbicide resistance testing for Brome grasses so we can better understand herbicide resistance risk in this species. Please get in touch with brome.weeds@adas.co.uk for a free testing pack.
