Harper Adams University is preparing to showcase its latest developments in precision farming technology at The Croptec Show.

Visitors will be able to learn more about the Hands Free Hectare project, which has been hitting the headlines across the globe after a team based at Harper Adams, in conjunction with Precision Decisions Ltd, successfully grew and harvested a crop of spring barley remotely, without operators in the driving seats or agronomists on the ground.

The university will also be showcasing the Yellow Gold project. Funded by Innovate UK and in collaboration with Agroceutical Products Ltd and Aberystwyth University, the Harper Adams Engineering team have helped to develop innovative systems for sustainable daffodil-derived Galanthamine production in the Welsh uplands.

At the show take the opportunity to speak to The National Centre for Precision Farming (NCPF) team from Harper Adams University. The NCPF builds sustainable partnerships with private and public sector organisations through a dedicated team of industry and academic experts. From newly established Startups, SMEs to global multi-national companies our experts have a wealth of knowledge and experience supporting Agricultural and Engineering organisations of all sizes to engage in continuing professional development, knowledge exchange and near market research.

The Harper Adams stand (Hall 2 Stand 23) should also be the first port of call for anyone considering undertaking study on the fields of agricultural technology. Programmes available include Bachelors and Masters degrees in mechanical and agricultural engineering, as well as a Masters in Applied Mechatronic Engineering, in addition to postgraduate research opportunities.
