GEOFOLIA – Spend more time in the field, less in the office
Geofolia, Landmark’s chosen crop recording solution, has been proving itself on UK sites for nearly two years, following on from its success in Europe. Developed by Isagri, Landmark’s parent company, Geofolia was a natural front runner to solve the gap in the marketplace for a visually attractive, easy to use program with the mapping, stock management, compliance and financial reporting functions that UK farmers require.
Landmark understands that increasingly more ‘paperwork’ is required of UK farmers, often resulting in more time spent in the office rather than working in the field. Geofolia has been developed with ease and efficiency in mind. Record field activities quickly and keep Crop Assurance, stock records, costing and mapping all in one place. Nigel Parsons, MD of Landmark said: ”The Geofolia mobile app means our farmers and managers do not need to be in the office to add, view or amend field records and operators can use the app to view and record their work – reducing office paperwork and duplication of effort even further.”
Since the initial UK launch of Geofolia early adopters like Julian Lewis, who farms 455 ha of clay cap in Hampshire, find that they have enough management information without over-complication and are less reliant on an increasing volume of spreadsheets. Lewis and other 2017 users were asked to recommend fine tuning to Geofolia to make it relevant it to UK farmers. A planned development schedule rolled out the ‘agronomist’s recommendations import’ and a link to Landmark’s KEYPrime Accounts software. Now, users of both programs can import their invoices to Geofolia, further reducing data entry time.
User Stephen Eales explained economic benefits he is seeing since becoming an early adopter of Geofolia. His Sussex business, J.G. Eales & Sons, is a 486 ha arable farm and from the start he was impressed by the time saving in the program. “Duplicate jobs are reduced by easy ‘copy activity’ features and measuring costs, by crop or by hectare is simple. The true ‘First In First Out’ stocks system gives very accurate gross margins at the touch of the button and the pesticides database and range of crops available are now even more relevant to UK environmental schemes”.
With over 9000 users worldwide, and excellent feedback from the UK market already, we are confident that this excellent value crop recording solution will continue to increase in popularity.
