Andrew Ward MBE

Lincolnshire Farmer

Andrew Ward farms 650ha of arable land near Leadenham, Lincolnshire. He grows wheat, spring barley, sugar beet and oilseed rape. He is Chairman of the AHDB RL oilseeds committee, a governor at Bishop Burton agricultural College, board member of RASE’s Innovation for Agriculture and the AHDB Project Board. His farm is an Agrii ifarm trial site with three open days a year.

He is a McDonald’s Flagship Farm, has hosted two Cereals Events and has won Farmers Weekly Arable Farmer of the Year. He received the NFU/ Farmers Weekly Farming Champion award for setting up Forage Aid in 2013 where he delivered donated forage and straw to help farmers in the north and west during the snow and in the Somerset floods of 2014. Forage Aid received full Charity status in April 2015 and was very active in the Cumbrian floods. Andrew also received the Farmers Guardian Farming Hero award.

He was awarded an MBE for his services to Agriculture in November 2014.
